About the Conference
Literature &... is a unique literary conference for high school students to present their original, creative work. Students synthesize a piece of literature with another discipline (music, art, movies, etc.) to present a unique perspective on the topic of their choice. The academic conference challenges students to make connections, question preconceptions, and engage in purposeful dialogue about literature and its relevance to the larger world. The program includes creative pieces, short stories, and essays about works of literature in general, as well as presentations that join creative writing with analysis of history, pop culture, film, art history, and philosophy.

The conference welcomes work synthesizing literature and another discipline, creative nonfiction, poetry, and dynamic essays about works of art or literature in general. What lenses on literature and life interest you? Share your ideas with peers from across L.A.!
Submission Guidelines:
Students should submit a 4 - 6 page essay with the name of a supervising teacher via email to litand@archer.org. In lieu of a paper, students can also submit a video, a slideshow, or a 300-word proposal about their presentation.
The submission deadline is Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
