Since Archer Forward was approved, the School have received questions from neighbors and the broader community about its construction timeline.
Archer intends to commence installation of the Temporary Classroom Village in June 2017, followed by commencement of construction of the North Wing Renovation in December 2017, to be completed in the spring of 2019. As set forth in Condition 29.c, this schedule is the general contractor’s construction manager’s best estimate for construction activities.
As part of the City of Los Angeles' approval, The Archer School for Girls will designate a Construction Relations Liaison to work with neighbors and local associations. The Liaison will serve as a single point of contact for the Brentwood community and keep our neighbors informed by providing details of the construction schedule, including a description of anticipated construction activities by time frame. This information will be widely distributed.
Construction days and hours are guided by the City's existing guidelines. In addition, Project Design Features and Mitigation Measures approved by the City also regulate construction activities. Details are provided in Section 29 "Construction Schedule" in the Conditions of Approval, dated August 4, 2015.
In a milestone decision for Archer Forward, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission unanimously approved the plan on April 23, 2015. The vote was an important step in the City's approval process, and it paved the way for the Archer Forward plan to deliver on our educational mission while respecting the Brentwood neighborhood we call home.
