Archer Announces Next Director of Upper School

We are delighted to announce that Maggie Cenan will be Archer’s next Director of Upper School. With an impressive background in education and leadership, Maggie brings a wealth of experience and a passion for excellence in teaching and learning to her new role.

As the current Math and Computer Science Department Chair, Maggie has demonstrated exemplary leadership in curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and program innovation. With the addition of courses such as Financial Literacy, Data Science, and Advanced Statistics, she has moved the Math and Computer Science department curricula boldly forward. Her dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for both students and faculty has taken Archer’s Math and Computer Science programs to the next level. Maggie has 15 years of experience teaching, leading, and presenting in her field. She holds a Master's in Secondary Education from Loyola Marymount University and is currently completing a certificate in School Management and Leadership at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and Business School. Her commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement is evident in her eight-year tenure at Archer.

With an impressive record of designing curriculum pathways and cultivating collaborative teaching environments, Maggie is ready to lead the Upper School with skill and a strong theory of practice. Her leadership is defined by a data-driven approach, and, for Maggie, one of the most important means of gathering data is by listening without bias or assumption. She meets people where they are and understands her responsibility to provide students and teachers with the tools and support they need to meet Archer’s high standards.
