Athletes Sign to Play at Wesleyan, UChicago, UC Riverside, and Smith
On Wednesday, April 17, in front of a packed Kennedy/Marshall Amphitheater, filled with the Archer community, family, friends, and coaches, four more senior athletes signed their National Letter of Intent to continue their sport in college. The signees included Malia A. ’24, who will play softball at Wesleyan University; Chloe H. ’24, who will compete in track & field at the University of Chicago; Isabella J. ’24, who will play on the UC Riverside volleyball team; and Eleanor M. ’24, who will join the Smith College rowing team.
During the Q&A of the ceremony, led by Athlete Leadership Council member Gemma L. ’24, the student-athletes shared their individual journeys to their signing moment which included great effort, consistency of showing up and saying yes, and accessing the incredible support provided by family, teammates, and coaches. In addition, Archer camaraderie and supportive team cultures were celebrated by the athletes.
This year marks a record number of Archer athlete college signings—six students, with six sports represented: rowing, soccer, softball, swim, track & field, and volleyball.
