Archer InvenTeam

InvenTeam challenges teams of students, teachers, and mentors to invent technological solutions to real-world problems and awards grants to teams based on merit. This year, The Archer School for Girls InvenTeam was one of 14 teams from across the nation that received a grant.

After surveying Archer's community to discover which issues the students cared about most, the InvenTeam decided to focus on water conservation–specifically about the Southern California drought. The team has invented a compact faucet attachment with an adjustable aerator that will monitor water usage. The attachment will take the place of an existing faucet aerator and will include an adapter to make sure that the product will fit most common faucets. The team is also continuously researching the most efficient ways to power the device and is currently planning to make the battery rechargeable.
