Archer Hosts the 2017 Student STEM Symposium

On Saturday, May 13, Upper School girls from across Los Angeles were invited to present their independent research projects at the annual Student STEM Symposium.
The event began with an entertaining, informative, and energetic keynote from Tracy Drain, Flight Systems Engineer for the Juno mission at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Students then had an opportunity to share about their research projects in poster sessions and judges for the Archer RISE Awards evaluated the eight finalists. Following in-depth breakout sessions wherein select students were able to present their research in additional detail, the event ended with the announcement of the 2017 Archer RISE Award honorees. This year, the two second place winners were awards $1000 towards the school or college that they will attend next year and the first place winner was awarded $5000 towards the school or college that she will attend next year.
