New Faces 2024-2025

Sally Chung

Ceramics Teacher

Ms. Chung is a L.A. native who loves to adventure in the mountains whether she's backpacking, snowboarding or rock climbing. She earned her B.A. in Art from UCLA and has taught arts education for the past decade. Ms. Chung is thrilled to support and nurture the creative journeys of all artists at Archer.
 
Fun Fact: Ms. Chung loves to learn new craft hobbies, last year was knitting, this year is beading! 



Julieta Girbal

Assistant Director of Admissions

Originally from Buenos Aires, Ms. Girbal has called Los Angeles home for the last two decades. She holds a B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Southern California and is a proud Trojan (Fight On!). Ms. Girbal has previously held roles in recruiting, human resources, and project management. Ms. Girbal is most looking forward to meeting new Archer families during the admissions process and working with our Ambassador Leadership team!
 
Fun fact: Ms. Girbal has gone skydiving!





Lisa King

Math & Computer Science Department Chair

Ms. King is a Southern California native who loves dispersed camping, board games, and enjoying L.A.'s culinary scene. She holds a B.A. in Theatre from UCSD and a M.Ed. in Education from UCLA. With over 15 years of experience in education, ranging from serving as a classroom teacher to an assistant principal, she is excited to bring her passion for mathematics education to the Archer community.

Fun Fact: Ms. King placed in the top 10 players of Catan at the most recent World Boardgaming Championships.

Dr. Hannah Murray

Orchestra Director

Dr. Murray loves traveling, horses, and afternoon tea. She holds a D.M.A and M.M. from the University of Oklahoma and has been a principal orchestral player in ensembles across the country for over 10 years. Before joining the faculty at Archer, she spent most of her time performing everything from Disney songs with the Pentatonix to opera arias with Andrea Bocelli. As a teacher, she's coached ensembles all over Los Angeles and helps professional musicians optimize their movement patterns for better performances. She looks forward to bringing her commitment to musicians' health and wellbeing to the students at Archer, and empowering the next generation to find their musical voice and share it with the world.
 
Fun Fact: Dr. Murray played in a rock band and toured Europe 3 times.

Molly Noah

Admissions Associate

Ms. Noah is an L.A. native and a Marlborough School graduate. She went on to earn a B.A. in
English Literature from Boston University and an M.A. in Psychology from Pepperdine
University. Ms. Noah previously worked in Admissions at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences before taking a break to be a full-time caregiver to her two young sons. Now that her little boys are not quite so little anymore, she is looking forward to jumping back into the exciting world of Admissions at The Archer School for Girls.
 
Fun Fact: Ms. Noah’s favorite movie is “Waiting for Guffman.”

Charlie Watts

Science Teacher

A West L.A. native, Mr. Watts has a B.S. from Cal Poly SLO in Information Systems. While working as a business analyst prior to the pandemic, he was provided the opportunity to teach an introductory computer science course which sparked his passion for teaching. He hasn't looked back since! In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, sports, video games, and acting as tech support for his friends. He's excited to contribute to Archer's reputation of excellence, and nurture problem solvers that will change the world!
 
Fun Fact: Contradictory to growing up in L.A., none of his sports allegiances lie with the city (SF Giants, Sac Kings, LV Raiders).

Terri Fleming

Fitness & Wellness Teaching Apprentice

Coach Fleming enjoys hiking, yoga + pilates, reading, and baking. She has three brothers, and she graduated with a Political Science degree from UCLA—go Bruins! She is really excited to begin her teaching career with some of the most amazing young girls and wonderful teachers here at Archer.
 
Fun Fact: She just received her yoga teacher certification!

Carmen Sahagún

Science Teaching Apprentice

Carmen Sahagún grew up in Chico, CA in her early childhood but spent most of her adolescence in Hollister, CA on the central coast. Growing up, she loved being active outdoors, either playing soccer or hiking and backpacking. She graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2023 with a BS in Environmental Science & Management with an emphasis in Interpretation & Education. This year will be her ninth year of experience in outdoor and science education. Ms. Sahagún is looking forward to working as the Garden FLX Block instructor so that she can cultivate a space for Archer's Middle School students to connect with nature while getting excited about science outdoors.

Fun Fact: When she became a book nerd in elementary school, it was because she fell in love with the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan and is now a huge mythology geek. 



Chris Kapica

Music Teacher

Mr. Kapica earned B.M. and M.M. degrees in Composition from Juilliard and has over a decade of collegiate and private teaching experience. He has written music for Cirque du Soleil, Carnegie Hall's Neighborhood Concert Series, the New York Philharmonic's Biennial festival, TV shows, and ads. As a performer, he has toured the country and played with musicians like Jon Batiste and Robby Krieger (The Doors). Mr. Kapica is thrilled to help Archer artists develop the musicianship skills, expressive tools, technological fluency, and business savvy necessary to achieve their creative goals.

Fun fact: Mr. Kapica was an extra in the film Rock of Ages (but might be hard to recognize because he had strikingly voluminous hair back then).

Donye Jones

Campus Monitor

Ms. Jones was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She is a mother of one and enjoys traveling, trying new food, and learning about different cultures and heritages. Previously, Ms. Jones was a Behavioral Interventionist, and she’s had many years of experience in the security field. She is grateful to be a part of the staff at Archer and is excited to see what’s to come. 

Fun Fact: Her guilty pleasure is ice cream!

Brynn Estrada

History Teaching Apprentice

Brynn Estrada has moved around the South Bay but spent most of her time growing up in Redondo Beach. She attended the University of Oregon where she earned her B.A. in History and later, her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Teaching. Outside of school, she loves spending time at the beach and cooking for friends and family. She is looking forward to working with the awesome staff at Archer and empowering young women! 
 
Fun Fact: Ms. Estrada has a 2.5 year old hamster with a big personality. 

Bri Holland

Choir and A Cappella Director

Mx. Holland is a multifaceted musician and educator. As a singer (SAG-AFTRA), songwriter (BMI), and Grammy-nominated vocal engineer (Recording Academy), they collaborate with artists, composers, orchestrators, and film/TV/commercial production houses. As a vocal producer, singing coach, music director, and teaching artist, they work with a wide range of music communities, including choirs and a cappella ensembles at schools across the country. Mx. Holland is looking forward to supporting the students of Archer in all of their artistic endeavors and vocal performance journeys!
 
Fun Fact: Mx. Holland's first concert was Britney Spears, their most recent concert was Madison McFerrin, and their favorite concert is impossible to say!

Aidyn Kulick

History Teacher

Originally from Massachusetts, Mr. Kulick earned his Bachelor of Science in Communications/Media. After beginning his career in Education Technology, he relocated to Los Angeles and followed his strong passion for teaching history. Outside of work, Aidyn enjoys staying active, reading, hiking, and spending quality time with family and friends. He is thrilled to join the Archer community and looks forward to contributing to its vibrant environment and meeting all the amazing individuals in the community. 
 
Fun Fact: He considers himself both a sci-fi and comic book nerd.

April Nishinaka

Math Teacher

Ms. Nishinaka is an L.A. native who loves to cheer for all L.A. sports, explore different cultures and local communities through food, and do arts and crafts. She earned her B.A. in Physics from the University of Southern California with a minor in American Studies and Ethnicity, and an M.A. in Education from Azusa Pacific University. Outside of work, you can find Ms. Nishinaka at Disneyland, spending time with family, or at a local sporting event. Ms. Nishinaka is most excited to get to know the students at Archer and support them both in and out of the classroom.
 
Fun Fact: Ms. Nishinaka competed in an amateur gyoza eating competition as part of the Nisei Week Festival and was absolutely bad at it.




Kristen Riggs

Science Teacher

Ms. Riggs earned her B.S. in Organismal Biology and Ecology while working as a zookeeper specializing in exotic cats. Her undergraduate research studied olfactory stimulations of clouded leopards and she has presented at multiple zoology conferences. She has a M.A. in Teacher Leadership from San Diego State University and is currently in the last year of her doctorate at the University of Southern California. Ms. Riggs is excited to join the Archer community to foster a love of science and protecting our wildlife.
 
Fun fact: Ms. Riggs has done research in Namibia working with cheetah and leopard populations.

Alyssa Worbetz

Science Teacher

Ms. Worbetz grew up in New Jersey and is a lover of cats and nature! She holds an M.A. in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an M.S. in Biology from Clemson. Outside of teaching, she enjoys fostering kittens, hiking, and running. She is looking forward to getting to know the amazing students and staff, and having a positive impact on girls’ education.
 
Fun Fact: Ms. Worbetz has seen Kelly Clarkson live over a dozen times.


Lucas Hoffman

Math Teaching Apprentice

Mr. Hoffman is staring his first year at Archer in the Math Department after having worked for two years as a Math and Science Teacher in Los Angeles. His favorite things to do in his free time are to bike, hike, and swim! He is most looking forward to working with curious students who want to take their Math confidence to the next level. 

Fun Fact: He likes to make his own bread for breakfast.

Brooke Sebold

Film Artist in Residence

Mx. Sebold (she/they) grew up in the Sonoran desert of Tucson, Arizona and has been making documentary and narrative films for over 20 years. They hold a B.A. from Brown University and an M.F.A. from Columbia University, and their work has screened in theaters, museums, and festivals worldwide, earning top honors at Sundance, Slamdance, Frameline, and Outfest, and appearing on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and PBS, among other major platforms. Most recently, with support from PFLAG and The Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley, Mx. Sebold created the non-fiction series “I Changed My Mind” which aims to normalize what the changing mind looks like. At Archer, Mx. Sebold is looking forward to nurturing the creative spirit and intellectual curiosity of her students, and also to learning from them.

Fun Fact: Mx. Sebold was born without a sense of smell which she blames for her horrendous sense of direction (but has no scientific evidence to support this theory). Mx. Sebold also nearly won $25,000 on Steph Curry’s extreme mini-golf competition gameshow, Holey Moley, which aired on ABC to 11 million viewers!

Karla Amaya

Facilities Technician

Ms. Amaya was born and raised in El Salvador. She is the proud mother of two children, and prior to joining The Archer School for Girls, she worked as a caregiver and has had many other previous occupations. She is looking forward to bringing all of her many varied talents to Archer. 

Fun Fact: Ms. Amaya loves music and concerts and sings karaoke for fun. She also enjoys the outdoors very much and is fascinated by astrology.
